Founded in 1997, Királyudvar was the first boutique winery in Tokaj-Hegyalja.

The history of the Tarcal-based winery dates back to the 16th century.

During the golden age of Tokaj, from the 16th century to the 18th century, the estate's wines helped to create the legend of Tokaj wines.

The current owner, Anthony Hwang, bought the winery in 1997 and restored it to its original state.

Since 2010, the winery has been working with clearly organic and biodynamic approaches (but they have been making dry wines accordingly since 2007).

Their Furmint sparkling wine is still one of the best in the Upland.

The winery is an excellent example of how unique wine quality can be created on a large estate.
