CLOS HENRI

Marlborough, New Zealand

Winemaker: Arnaud Bourgeois
Land size: 110 hectares

Varieties of grapes: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay,  Pinot Noir

Nestled in the southern Wairau Valley in Marlborough, Clos Henri is a controlled organic estate founded by the famous French wine-producing Bourgeois family.

Combining the winemaking know-how of 10 generations of the family, Clos Henri produces elegant wines from three different soil types.

The best French and New World viticultural techniques are used to capture the essence of Marlborough's intense character and reveal the unique identity and depth of the terroir.

"Our ultimate aim is to offer a wine that tells the story of its origins, whispers that it is not French but Marlborough and proclaims that it is the result of the distinctive Clos Henri terroir," says estate manager Arnaud Bourgeois.

In 2021, the top two Sauvignon Blancs in the top 50 list of New Zealand wines compiled by world-renowned wine writer James Suckling were from Clos Henri, and of those, our Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2019, available in our selection, scored 95 out of 100!
